Is he going to be okay? I pushed it back, but apparently not far enough. I can't find anywhere that says coconut is bad. He jumped up and ate it off the counter while I was on the phone.

Your dog will be fine, aside from possibly getting the runs from that rich pie. He will now anticipate dessert every day!

I think he will be fine, might throw up, but how recently did he eat it and what size dog is it? If I were you and worried, I would call the vet to see what they say.Good luck

Got any stomach meds on hand? I'd anticipate an upset stomach in a larger dog because it's a pretty rich pie.

We had to use hydrogen peroxide to get Grey to vomit because he looked like a blimp after eating 1 1/2 loaves of bread and 12 tortilla shells a few months ago.I would have been content if he had simply eaten a pie.

    Wishing you luck!

To lessen the likelihood of the runs, I would feed a few Tbs of plain canned pumpkin (not the spiced pie mix).

He has been outside for the majority of the evening and appears to be fine. I hope he won't experience any problems when we go to bed. I have pumpkin that I can give him. What stomach medications should I give?

There is also a poison control for animals that you can call for information. I can't believe medical advice is OK to give out on this forum; a veterinarian should be contacted for any medical concerns.

If the coconut cream pie isn't poisonous, the dog might get diarrhea, but probably won't even get that. Most dogs can eat the most incredible things without experiencing any negative effects.

Actually, there are a lot of VERY intelligent dog lovers on this site who would probably know more about what is safe for dogs than a local veterinarian would. From what I understand, a call to a poison control center for pets costs around $50.
